Welcome to the works of Ben Morgan. This portfolio will portray a diverse range of his design work from print material to web design. This collection of work shows an arsenal of skills from illustration, layout, typography, and computer literacy whilst highlighting an impressive ability to understand the needs of clients.
Gaining a First Class Honours from the Birmingham Institute of Art and Design, Morgan has gone on to work and collaborate with musicians, writers and other artists. With musicians, his artistic input augments the creation of unique band identities which help illuminate and promote them in the tough industry of the music business in such a way that some have become signed and others have been able to sell their wares to support their band’s finance. When commissioned to
create these promotional works, Morgan develops strong relationships with the bands which enables him to offer an individual and personalised end result with a richness that can only be executed through this method of working.
As well as working with bands Morgan has been creating his own works and exhibiting in galleries ranging from Earles Court in London at a prestigious D&AD show, TATE Liverpool, to Gallerie Lambiek in Amsterdam. He also regularly shows and sells his own wares at book fairs across the country, at times being represented by The Artists Book Collective. As a result of this exposure Morgan now has works being sold in The Custard Factory in Birmingham and in Urban Outfitters. His current projects include collaborating with writers both nationally and internationally creating short stories such as ‘Family Zoo’, ‘OFFAL’, ‘Costume’ and more recently ‘Geronimo,’a full length novel still in progress, already gaining publication interests.
